May Flowers

It was a beautiful spring afternoon when I took this photo of my oldest daughter. This photo is pretty much straight out of the camera, the lighting was soft and the colors creamy so I pretty much left is as is, I love all the different shades of purple, blue, and red highlights in her hair against her yellow shirt and the red rossette headband.

May's photo challenge over at Rock The Shot Forum is “Flower Portrait”, so your submission this month must include flowers and at least ONE person. Stop on over everyone is invited to participate!

Water

This time of year we enjoy lazy days on the river so I used a slow shutter speed to capture the ever graceful movement of water and on since we live near the birth place of Mardi Gras you can find on any typical day kids playing with their left over Mardi Gras decorations and costumes, the mask definitely added to the allure of the photo.
I converted the image to black and white and add just a little color to warm it up.

Spring is Here!

The weather has been near perfection! Most of the time my kids are spending the afternoon playing basketball among the blooming Azaleas in our backyard. I shot this one holding the camera using the hail mary technique looking through our tire swing. I just love how it turned out, the pink flowers really pop out against the black of the swing.
